V-Mesh is produced by using filaments of Vecry, a hybrid fibre with both unique construction and characteristics. Vecry is a sheathed filament surrounding a liquid crystal based polymer core, and can be woven into a high “Open Area” construction having very fine filaments.

Advantages of Vecry

  • Very high tensile strength – greater than stainless steels.
  • Very low elongation with a high elastic recovery.
  • Low sensitivity to changes in temperature and humidity.
  • Outstanding abrasion resistance and to the fibrillation typical in other “super fibres”.
  • Excellent response to the UV wavelengths used in pattern exposure.

Strength

Vecry provides the required strength for a screen, but unlike stainless steel, the combination of thin, flexible fibres and the weaving process result in flat filament intersections. Additionally, the smoother thread surfaces further enhance paste release.

V-Mesh screens can be tensioned to even higher levels than stainless steel, when necessary. This higher tension enables screen peel to occur with less snap-off, enhancing paste release without reducing gasketing and the risk to both edge definition and “overfilling” of the print volume.

Elongation

Vecry exhibits low, linear elongation with increasing load, which is totally reversible right up to the fracture point of the fibre. Therefore, initial tension control and stability is easier to achieve.
V-Mesh screens also exhibit low plastic deformation under continuous load, resulting in virtually zero change in elongation. This key property ensures positional accuracy of fine detail, large images during very large production runs.

Low Sensitivity to Environmental Changes

With a low co-efficient of expansion and reduced sensitivity to moisture, the mesh will not lose tension, nor will it allow environmental changes to distort the printed image.
The dense, smooth threads are also resistant to swelling and solvent capture common with other synthetic materials. This helps to reduce paste drying out on the screen.

Applications That Would Benefit from V-Mesh

  • Long production runs
  • Abrasive or uneven substrates
  • Very fine detail
  • Semiconductor passivation
  • Plasma Display Panels
  • Thick prints where paste release is critical
  • Complex multilayer hybrids (Flexibility to print near raised features while maintaining sufficient gasketing to provide fine detail)

Quality

From receipt of your order to despatch, MCI ensures that quality matters.

Using the latest techniques in Quality Control and by continuously measuring and improving our Quality we ensure the product is made to your requirements first time.

Mesh is supplied exclusively from the recognised world-leading supplier of stainless steel mesh.

All mesh parameters are carefully checked on receipt at MCI and continuously monitored and rechecked during the screen making process.

Screen tension is checked using the latest electronic equipment to ensure precise measurement control and conformance to specification.

For those customers requiring exposed screens we offer the highest standards of workmanship available. Our combination of top quality emulsion and our experience working with exposed screens means we can ensure resolution of the finest artwork, whatever the application.

Each screen produced has unique and complete traceability to point of manufacture, including mesh lot, epoxy and emulsion batch numbers.
